Though your insurer may be on the list, our providers/group may or may not be included in your specific plan's network. If you choose to use your private insurance to cover our services, please verify with your insurer that the provider you are seeing is in-network by calling the number located on your insurance card prior to your first appointment. Out of network options may be available, contact us for additional information.
We can run a courtesy benefits verification, but coverage is not guaranteed. You will be responsible for any copays, deductibles, or changes in insurance. Please note that if using insurance, your out-of-pocket financial responsibility is a contract between you and your insurance company and not a rate that is established by Pulse Counseling & Wellness Center, PLLC.
In addition, charges for missed appointments, forms, and calls cannot be submitted to insurance.
Your insurance may offer out-of-network benefits to help cover therapy costs. We provide superbills for you to submit to your insurer for potential reimbursement, depending on your plan.
You have the right to pay privately for services to avoid sharing your personal information with your insurance company.
Some clients prefer not to use insurance for mental health services, as insurance companies require a diagnosis for billing. This diagnosis, along with other requested information, becomes part of your health record and can be reviewed by your insurer.
Effective January 1, 2022, the No Surprises Act protects you from unexpected medical bills, including for mental health services. As part of this law, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much your care will cost.
If you are uninsured or not using insurance, you are entitled to receive this estimate in writing before your services begin. The estimate will include the total expected cost of your sessions, including fees for assessment, therapy, or other related services.
Our clinicians accept most EAP program sessions. Contact us for details.
We offer an affordable counseling option through our Graduate Student Intern Program. Graduate Students are in the final portion of their master's degree, highly trained, and supervised by experienced licensed clinicians in the practice and professors at their respective University. They can see folks for $30 per session.
We offer a limited number of sliding scale fee slots based on household income and financial need. Please inquire during intake or contact our office to learn more about eligibility and the application process.
